BellaCopper Heat Diffusers come in 6, 8, 9, and 10 inch sizes, all 1/8 inch thick, 99.9% pure copper.

Tips:

As with all heat diffusers, the BellaCopper heat diffuser works best with truly flat bottomed pans.

The BellaCopper heat diffuser will be hot during and after use, use caution and do not touch.

The BellaCopper heat diffuser will change color the very first time you use it. While it starts with a patina of red, orange, and blue, it eventually ends up mud colored. It can be restored to the original rich copper color with ordinary household metal cleaners. Or don't clean them, many don't. We recommend Barkeepers Friend for cleaning.

Why we invented the BellaCopper heat diffuser:

I am an Aerospace Engineer by training and I also do all the cooking for a family of 6 (well, less now as the teenagers grow up).

We were living in a tiny beach house in Ventura and I was cooking on a 1951 O'Keefe & Merrit four burner stove. This stove had built in diffuser plates on the back-burners and all four burners had a two-stage burner, with a tiny central ring for simmering and a larger ring for full heat. Fast forward and we were now living a little away from the beach in a bigger house and was cooking on a more modern stove. But guess what? This stove had none of the features of that great O’Keefe & Merrit stove and I could not get the heat low enough to properly simmer or sauté. I searched for a proper solution - aluminum and steel heat diffusers worked, to a degree, but then it hit me like a flash. I knew about the excellent heat transfer capability of copper from my work in aerospace and I manufactured a few test pieces. Well, to make a long story short, they worked so well I decided to manufacture and sell them. A kitchen tool this good is something that every well equipped kitchen and skilled cook needs.
